When Tempers Flare: Breathing Beyond the Trigger
Spend just a few minutes watching the news, scrolling through social media, or even standing in line at the store, and you’ll feel it: tempers are running hot.
We live in an age where opinions are currency. A simple comment, meant as an observation or even a joke, can ignite an argument. What begins as one person sharing a viewpoint quickly escalates into two people locked in combat, voices raised, emotions triggered, each side desperate to be heard. And often, both walk away behaving badly, each certain the other is to blame.
Here’s the irony: in those heated exchanges, the “accuser” and the “accused” become indistinguishable. Both are overtaken by ego. Both have forgotten what the conversation was even about. What could have been a chance for connection or growth becomes a battlefield where no one wins.
